The Arcadian Chambers were established in July 2022 by JA Motepe SC, with a vision of collating a dedicated team of senior and junior advocates in Pretoria, each offering expertise across diverse fields of law.

The name “Arcadian” refers to an individual who leads a simple and contemplative life—reflective of the advocate's profession, which often involves extended periods of solitary work undertaken in chambers, through conducting extensive legal research and drafting of court documents.
