Adv H.O.R "Oupa" Modisa SC, is a Senior Counsel who has been in practice for over 20 years. He acquired his B Iuris Degree as well as LLB Degree at Vista University. Oupa was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa on 27th July 2000 and joined the Pretoria Bar during 2001. He was confirmed Silk on 30th July 2019. He served on the Bar Council of the Pretoria for three terms and was involved in the subcommittees of the Pretoria Bar. Oupa joined the Pan African Bar Association of South Africa in 2019 and served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Tshwane Chambers in 2020. He is currently a member of the Mpumalanga Bar. Oupa has also served as a legal assessor and initiator for the South African Council of Educators, Legal Assessor and initiator for the Health Professions Council of South Africa, legal assessor of the South African Pharmaceutical Council, an Assessor on the Bench of the North Gauteng High Court, Palace of Justice with the Honourable Mr Justice Ponnan, presiding officer at the Compensation Commission dealing with objections by claimants in respect of claims lodged with the Commissioner about injuries on duty in terms of COIDA, Presiding Officer of disciplinary hearings for the National Lotteries Commission and has Presided as an Acting Judge from time to time since 2018.
